Las Vegas Myth #2

Snow in Las Vegas, say it isn't so. Well believe it! As we see, snow does exists in the desert. Many people believe that snow does not exist in the Mojave Desert, but I beg to differ. We may not get blizzards like the northwestern states, but once in a while a slight flurry might come our way. I heard on the news today that is made history. In some sections of the city we got at least three to six inches of snow. As beautiful as it is, it was colder here than some part of the northwest. This is a view from Red Rock Canyon. So there it is, myth #2.

I finally finished Nadya's shoot. The last series was a glamor shot for her portfolio. Initially we did the swimsuit series and a casual park photo shoot. Hopefully she has all she needs to pursue her career in modeling.

Nadya

I have had the opportunity to shoot an inspiring model.
Nadya is from Bulgaria and looking to pursue a career
in modeling and acting. She is a young vibrant woman who is
easy to photograph especially with her piercing eyes
. She
would be an asset to any modeling
agency here in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Myths: Series #1

As I took a nice walk through Sunset Park, I came up to the conclusion that I will start my series on Las Vegas Myths. Coming from the east coast and recently relocating here to the desert, most of my friends were asking question about the weather, water, nature, and yes, of course, life on the strip . You see, some thought that the locals here live, eat, breath, and sleep on the strip. My pastor said to me that Las Vegas was a scary place, but I beg to differ. I actually feel safer here than the east coast. Anyways, I figure I will shed some light on some of those ridiculous myths. Here we go, Myth #1 There is NO water in Las Vegas, of course we have water, we just kind of borrow it! Most people would say, well it's not from Nevada, maybe not, but how many of you borrowed things from your neighbors. You guys don't have ANY grass, parks, or flowers...Okay...ready....here we go!

A note from Mooregirl

Since this is my first post I should make it meaningful. I wanted to post my first maternity portrait that put me on the map in Philly. This couple was very open to my vision of intimate maternity portraits. Though this photo is almost three years old, I wanted to share my appreciation to one of my favorite clients, Leah. She not only makes an excellent model, but she had spread the word to all of her friends. Since Leah's shoot I had received many request for maternity portraits....Within one year, I had so many of her friends requesting shoots, that I thought their were getting pregnant on purpose...you can view them on my site at...www.sryderphotoanddesign.com. My style of photography is very passionate and sensual . I believe this image captured the essence of my style.
